Lunch with my sister in Atlanta!

Today was a great day. Started off with Laundry of course, but that's okay. It has to be done. It's not easy keeping laundry up for six, lol. My best friend Jessica was missing her Adicyn. She sent me a message on facebook asking if she could have Adicyn for the day. She misses Adicyn is she goes more than a few weeks without seeing her. She has been in Adicyn's life since an hour after she was born.

So after dropping Addy off at Jessica's, I came back home so that we could get ready for lunch with my sister and her husband in Atlanta. Lunch was great, my sister and I exchanged gifts as we always to whenever we see each other. We are always picking up little things for each other here and there. We just hang on to the gifts until we see each other. She gave me a beautiful ring, a necklace and a beautiful bracelet, and some other things. We also checked out each others new cars. She has a new Acura TL, and wow, that car is Sweeet!Hopefully we will see each other again next weekend.

My very pregnant sister and me

After arriving home, we hung out with our neighbor Sean for a bit, he is restoring an old muscle car, so the garage is where we stayed, lol. Then off to Chris' parents home. They have given me this Amazing Antique Piece that is located next to their foyer, I have loved it from the moment that I first saw it. They have also given us their Dinette Table and Hutch, and so much other stuff lately. My mother in law gave me her Japanese China Collection that is in the hutch. My husband is always telling me , how much his parents love me, and my mother in law constantly tells me that I am the daughter in law that she has always wanted. They are great people with huge hearts. They have so much to give.

Tomorrow is Presidents Day, I'm working, my husband is off. My in-laws are coming over at 0730 to pick up Adicyn for the day. My husband is going on a fishing trip with a good friend/co-worker of his.

Hopefully the week will fly by. I do not have an "off" day this week, but i am okay with it, more money for my bank account!

Garage Sales and great finds!

This weekend is flying by extremely too fast. Yesterday there were a lot of Garage sales near my home, so Trey and I woke up early so that we could get out and go early. I usually go to Garage sales like every Saturday morning. I love going. I must have inherited this from my mother, because she was a Garage Sale fanatic! I didn't buy any furniture this go around, only because I drove my new car instead of my SUV. Not a good decision, because I missed out on a great table with a cute table cloth for $2.00. I did find my sister some more maternity clothes. (She is due in May). I bought her a really cute Liz Lang maternity set and two new outfits for our new nephew on the way. His name is Aiden. We can't wait for his arrival.

I also found a very nice sheet set for Trey's bed, new and still in the package, I purchased me two skirts and a Summer Dress too. Trey found a cute little RC car.

Last weekend I didn't go, but the weekend before I found a cute dinette set at a Garage Sale located the next street over from mine, they sold their home and were having a moving sale. I paid $50.00 and sold it the same day for $125.00, I also purchased a sofa table and two matching lamps from someone, but I plan to keep the set. I love to buy, resale and re purpose things. Also, inherited from my mom. She was a very creative and resourceful woman.

My parents owned their own flea market at one time, we lived on over 100 acres of land and we had huge barns in the back of it, one was a two story pole barn, the other was an open front barn for farming machinery, one built for horses so it was even heated for the winter and housed individual horse stalls, and the other was built for storage of grains and peanuts that were harvested every year, after the farming was over, this one they used for the Flea Market. It was fun during the summer to work at our Vegetable stand and flea market, fun for a 10 year old that is.

The Dinette set that I purchased for $50.00 and more than doubled my money back.

She even threw in the seat cushions

I paid $75.00 for this one and sold it for $150.00

This one I purchased at a Garage Sale last Summer, this picture is before Is before I recovered the seats, paid $150.00 and sold for $300.00!

My new BMW, Title in hand!

Our yellow Mustang GT Vert

My husband is always amazed at my ability to find a great deal, buy low and sell high. He is especially amazed when it comes to us purchasing cars. Our yellow Mustang Vert, I found and did all of the price haggling and ended up getting the car $2,600 cheaper than what they were asking, that evening we drove to North Carolina and brought the car home. The same thing happened with our new BMW. I talked the seller down $2,150. I made the deal and that evening the car was in my driveway.

It's definitely one of my many awesome talents!

A great end to a long week.

Tonight after work is "Bunco For Breast Cancer", and thanks to one of our patients whom is a famous local artist and man of many talents (with a feminine side, lol) designed some really cute shirts our office staff and he even signed them. He was so proud to bring our shirts by the office, he could not wait to show off his work. The picture above is the image that he designed for our shirts to wear to Bunko For Breast Cancer.

I have never played Bunco, so I am a little interested to see what it's all about. I do know
Strictly speaking, Bunco is a game of dice, played in rounds. Players take turns rolling the dice and trying to accumulate as many points as possible to win each round. The game is played at tables of four in competing teams of two.

Players score points by rolling three dice and trying to match the number they're supposed to roll for that round. They get a point for each die that rolls the number, and if all three roll the number they score 21 points. They also score 5 points for rolling three of a kind of any other number. They get to keep rolling as long as they score one or more points with each roll. Once they fail to score they pass the dice to their left and the opposing team gets a chance to score.

During each round the teams at the Head Table try to score 21 points. The first team to score 21 points wins the round and play stops. At all other tables play stops when the Head Table play stops and the team with the highest score at each lower table wins the round.

At the end of the round players change seats, the winners at each of the lower tables move up a table, and the losers at the head table move to the lowest table. Players also switch partners at the end of the round, so you never play with the same partner twice in a row.

During play, players track the number of rounds they win and lose as a team, and the number of Buncos scored individually, on their personal scorecard. At the end of the night wins/losses and Buncos are tallied and prizes awarded.

I won't be able to stay the entire time, nor do I want to. We don't have a lot planned for this weekend, but enough to keep  us busy. Hopefully, the woman that purchased my Dining Room table will come and pick it up. I sold it to her almost four months ago. She paid for it , but did not have a place to store it at the time. I need the space for my new Dining Table and Hutch.

Lately, I'm not so excited about decorating anymore. I'm sure that I will once we move into the new house. I did purchase a new Patio Set yesterday and a bed for Adicyn's new room. I bought them from a friend whom just sold her home a few houses down from us. I have never been attached to this house anyway, It;s cute, but it's the smallest that I have ever lived in and it has the smallest lot. I can't wait to have a large home again, with plenty of space for everyone and everything!

Finally , A day all for myself...until 2:45 that is...

So far, I have had a great day. I stopped in at a local Tire Store to check on some prices for new tires for the SUV, then on Kohl's, and a few other stores. I know I said that I would not shop, but I found some great deals! I bought some new sandals, jeans, tops and pants for myself, clothing for Trey and Adicyn too. Also I found two great Pictures to hang in my Great Room. Lastly, Lunch with my friend Shannon, it was so great to see her.

Now it's after 1pm and my husband is texting me again, he's been texting me all day. He can't stand for me to be off and he not be with me, lol. He wants to go eat lunch when he gets home from work, but I am in the middle of cleaning and redecorating and I don't want to leave. I am sure that I will give in to him. Not always, but at times, I do and that's okay with me.

I have been wanting to get around to posting picture's of my new car too. I have lots on my camera and on my phone, but only one saved that I can upload.....

Here it is!!!

Parked in my driveway.

I need a Break!

Yesterday was a long shift, it seemed as if it would never end. I worked from 0650-1930 yesterday. Once I left last night, I was dead tired when I finally arrived home. The drive home even seemed longer than the normal 45 minutes one way that I drive. The doctor and I both were tired of seeing patients and tired of the whining by the time that I left, she stayed over until 2200 last night, and yes, we are back here again this am at 0650! '

That's all okay though, because I am off tomorrow. I have lunch planned with my friend Shannon at a pizza venue, the name is Two Guys and a Pie. It's a great little spot for Pizza. She wanted to meet before she leaves on Friday for Aruba. She wanted me to come along, maybe nect year. It will be easier when my daughter Adicyn is just a little older. It's been a while since I have seen Shannon, so I'm excited! She's a nurse in IV Therapy at our local Hospital, and the best nurse there. She was an ER nurse since the age of 20, and now she's 42. She's a mother of four also, her husband Mike is a drug rep for an Oncology drug. They are a picture perfect family and she is one of my Best Friends. We see each other more during the Summer months, because she has a pool and loves to throw pool parties with the girls, drinks and grilled lunch, it's great.

I probably won't do any shopping on my day off tomorrow, other than purchasing a new Insurance policy with the same company that hold our home owner's policy. That's all of the money that I need to spend. I left work early on Friday and drove straight to River Crossing, I bought a matching Bra and Pantie set from Victoria's Secret, that was 80 bucks, then on to Gymboree, just a few outfits and two sets of hair bows, cost me $159.82, after Gymboree I stopped in at Aeropostale and Express. I spent way too much money and actually felt a little guilty for it, but not for long.. hehe.

So, tomorrow with my day off, No shopping for me. I did think about stopping buy a local auto detail shop to have them detail my new BMW, I rationalized the thought..it's not really shopping, even though it is spending money. Maybe I should just stay home and clean house. If I knew without a doubt that the cold weather is behind us, I would work in the yard, but I will just wait a few more weeks for that.

My new BMW!

My BMW as it sat at the Dealership.

I am so excited to finally have purchased my self a new car. The best part of all, ...I paid Cash. This means no car payment!

We drove up yesterday to pick it up. The look of the car is ten times better in person, even this picture doesn't do my new car justice. It is a coupe, in which, originally I had my mind set on a four door. Once I stumbled upon this car, I changed my mind. Owning a two door BMW is nothing like owning a two door Mustang. The ease of getting Adicyn in and out of her cars seat...nothing to it! If we take a trip as a family, we will drive our SUV, other than that, it will pretty much just sit with like one of our Mustang's.

As I was driving home last night, I was so happy and in awe. It came equipped with bi-tone leather interior, sunroof, paddle shifting, steptronic transmission, stereo and cruise controls located on the steering wheel, a Harman Kardon Sound System and so much more. Now I get to pay Insurance Premiums on Four Vehicles, lol.

These pictures of from the sales site that I found this car on.
I will take pictures today at home....

Today we are looking for new BMW wheels, and new black BMW Floor Mats. This is definitely a fun car to shop for. We are wanting to replace the wheels with M3 wheels. It has 17" now , we want to replace those with 18" x 8's on the front and 18" x 9's on the rear. My husband and I both really like "Staggered Wheels". So, I will be posting the old wheels on a couple of local sites soon.

My neighbor's are going to love my new car as well. My neighbor to the left of me just purchased a new black z71 yesterday, previously he owned a white one. The truck is their only source of transportation other than his law enforcement car. He is the chief of police of Centerville, a small town nearby. So he drives the "unmarked" car, lol. His wife sold her PT Cruiser and decided to drive his truck so that they could save more money to pay for his college loans. Now she's fed up with driving his truck, so I am a little surprised that he bought a new truck and traded in his old truck instead of Buying his wife a vehicle. Who knows, maybe there's a reason.

So on to today.. We are meeting friends for lunch at a local Pizza venue, other than that, We will be home most of the day. I will be catching up on chores that I was unable to complete yesterday, but all for a good reason!

Narrowing down the search ...

I think that I have found the perfect car for me. I have been searching for quite some time. I know that I want a cash car.  I haven't had an auto loan payment in such a long time, nor do I plan on ever having one again. It's so nice to only pay Insurance, Mortgage , Utilities and my credit card.

So after searching all day, I have found this 330i. It's a great find. I narrowed the exterior colors down to black, white or silver. For the interior, only black. I would settle with tan, certainly not grey. Tomorrow or Saturday we plan to drive to meet the owner and test drive the car. I will definetley pull a car fax before hand. We always pull a car fax before we buy a car. It's crazy not to these days. One of the BMW's at the top of my list is this 330i. It's exterior is silver, interior is black leather, sun roof, heated seats, harmon kardon sound system (factory sound). I can't wait to bring this one or another one home this weekend.
Here it is!

Whatever I decide, I will post more picture's.

Vacation coming up!

I am extremely excited about our upcoming vacation and business trip to Charleston, S.C.

We will be leaving on Thursday, March 24th. Just as soon as I get off from work at 2 o'clock and we won't be returning until Tuesday, March 29th. My husband's interview is scheduled for Friday at 0900 at Charleston, AFB. We have been keeping this under wraps for now, he has a great chance at landing a GS position, but we would have to move to Charleston. We are moving either way, and can't way for new opportunities and the new life in which we are about to embark on! My husband has only told his closest friend Rob and his parent's as of right now, just in case he does not get chosen for the position.

F-15 Eagle located at Charleston, AFB

On March 25th (also my nieces 16th birthday) we will be attending a very high end fashion show in North Charleston. The local design community takes center stage at a five day celebration of fashion. An emerging fashion designer competition, bridal couture show, finale gala, previews of everything from ready to wear collections to wedding gowns and accessories, and runway shows will make this even more exciting, mostly because I  love to get a close up look at top talent and the season's hottest styles. It's going to be so much fun. I will be sure to take a lot of picture's.

The gardens of Charleston are famous throughout the American Southeast, if not the entire world, and this is the time of year when they are at their finest. These tours - each day features a different street or section of the historic city - are highly prized by those who love horticulture, architecture, or the sheer beauty preserved within private places that are only open for viewing a few times each year and we won't miss this either. I have always wanted to a own a Historic home with lots of rooms and a secret garden. Some of the most Grand Homes in the U.S. are located throughout Charleston. Below are a few picture's of some of the scenery and homes.

We will be visiting with my brother and his family a lot, but we will be staying at The Palms Hotel

Best of all, it's Ocean Front. For My husband and myself, there is no greater and more relaxing place to be than near the ocean. There are also many photo backdrops all throughout Charleston and Isle of Palms, S.C.  We will be shooting many pictures with my new Canon Camera. Professional Quality Photos and I hope to squeeze in a family photo as well. My husband and I will also have a full day and night alone because my brother will be babysitting, lol. He is so excited to see everyone.

As you can tell we are so amped about this much needed and well deserved vacation for our family.

Super Bowl XLV -Sunday

We can't wait for the 6:30 kickoff! This will be the 45th annual Super Bowl Sunday in America. True statement; Even I, a girl, like to play football and watch football, my favorite is to "run the ball."
  • Who is playing: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Green Bay Packers
  • Location: Cowboys Stadium, Arlington Texas
  • Halftime: Black Eyed Peas /Super Bowl Number: 45 (XLV)
Last year was the first time that I have ever missed watching the kickoff, I don't plan to miss it this year. Even though Brett Favre won't be playing with the Packers this time, since he retired from the Packers in 2008, I'm still watching them play. I have only met him a hand full of times. He is my friend Stacey's First Cousin, he usually only comes to Warner Robins for Christmas and Thanksgiving. I do get to see him during those times of the year. He's a great guy.

So yes of course, we will be watching "The Game."
Yesterday we had a busy day, it started with a trip to the FedEx hub in Macon to pick up a cell phone that Verizon had shipped, then to Chuck's Gun store, then on to pick up the in-laws and off to Macon for lunch. They loved riding with us so much, they weren't ready for us to take them home after lunch. Lol, so we let them ride with us to Perry, and even back to our house for a few hours. They stayed here until after dark. We would have taken them home a little sooner, but I had to wait on someone to come and pay me for a Kitchen Table set that I sold on a local site. Hopefully she will come and pick it up shortly. I don't plan on waiting around all day. She has paid for it, and it's not supposed to rain, so worse case scenario, I'll just sit it out in my driveway and she can pick it up from there. We have a lunch date with family at Johnny's Pizza over near our house in the Kroger Shopping center. My favorite Pizza venue is Allen's Pizza in Centerville and there is a great one in Savannah that we love to eat at.

Friday I spent almost the entire day (after lunch) cleaning house, I accomplished a ton of things. Up until lunch, I was shopping. I bought two sweaters, three shirts, one pair of Jeans and one pair of Hollister Brown Pants. I love to shop for clothes! I also went to check out a car that I've had my eye on that's for sale. It was alright, a little dirty for only a year old. Besides, I really want a black on black BMW. My brother found one for me in Charleston, so if it's still available, we may take a look at it, next weekend. We are planning a trip to Charleston in March anyway. I have two-four day weekends off in March, so my husband has scheduled the same time off as well. The first weekend we will be taking a trip to Destin, and the second weekend, it's Charleston, S.C. to visit my brother and his family. I can't wait to see him, and even more excited to spend time with him. I know that my husband is just as excited, He  thinks of my brother very highly, and he says that my brother is the coolest guy that he has ever met. My husband loves all of my family. Especially my brother and sister, my Aunt Pat, Aunt Sandra, Uncle Joey, Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Helen and my Aunt Anna. Of course all of my cousins too! Chris is more excited about our upcoming family reunion in the North Georgia Mountains than myself. He truly loves to be around my family.

Somehow I have to make it to New York in June and North GA. I hope that my work schedule allows for both. I have already scheduled my weeks vacation for July, Disney World again just like last year and every year since 1996. We love Disney World and we get in Free with Free parking and tickets for four to Cirque du Soleil in Orlando, thanks to our family connections. We love the show!

Okay so enough blogging for now, I need to finish my laundry and dust! Oh yes, and the best news that I have heard in a while...Spring begins March 20th !!!!

Feb 2, 2011

Off soon and venting!

After tomorrow I am off for four days. From my primary job that is and I probably won't pick up any extra time from anywhere else. Unless there is a shortage of nurses. I pray there won't be. Not a lot has been going on lately. My friend Mary down the street has a contract signed on her house. They will be closing in March, and the bank accepted their offer on the new home they are buying. Their home sold fast, and she got exactly what she was asking. I am very happy for them, they need a larger home as well.

This week it seems like there is just not enough time to do anything extra once I get home. Tyler's chore is to load the dishwasher and Amber's job is to unload and put dishes away, these are their only chores in the winter months other than cleaning their rooms. Oh yes, and Amber's other chore is to clean their bathroom. She makes most of the mess, so it's only fair that she clean it. Trey's chore is to pick up any trash or debris in the yard and to weed the flower beds during the summer. They all do a great job with their chores and never complain. Michael and I have always instilled hard work into our children. They come from a family of hard workers and I hope that they pass this on to their children as well.

Growing up, I had no chores other than cleaning my own room.  My mom did everything! I am a lot like her in the way that, I like to do everything myself, it's hard for me to let go of household tasks. If you want something done right, do it yourself. I live by this rule. I don't like to ask anyone to do anything for me. Lol, there is a reason...If I am asking you to do something, it's because I want it done right now, Not later, not when you want to do it, but NOW. This is why I'd rather do it all myself.

My husband like to drop his clothes in the middle of our bedroom floor, as does every man. Yes, any man that has ever been in my life has always been this way. I hear the same complaints from my friends about their husband's. The Laundry hamper is right there! What's the big deal? I don't get it. Another pet peeve of mine is..If you shave, please put away your shaving cream and razor afterwards, please. I do not like anything left out after it has been used,. This includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash, loofah, whatever, put it back! Everything has a place and I want everything in its place. Is that too much to ask? I do not like the way that things appear when they are not in their places. I don't even leave the paper towel roll, even though it's on a nice decorative piece, I do not like it out on the counter, same thing with the toaster. I don't like clutter all over my counter tops. Also, I don't like for anyone to sit on my pillows on the sofa. I will remove them before we have company. It makes me cringe to see someone leaning back on a throw pillow.
Wow, it feels great to vent!
